Target Information
RILPL1 plays a role in the regulation of cell shape and polarity, and in cellular protein transport, including transport away from primary cilia. It functions as a neuroprotective protein by sequestering GAPDH in the cytosol to prevent its apoptotic activity in the nucleus. RILPL1 competes with SIAH1 for GAPDH binding and binds to RAB10 following LRRK2-mediated phosphorylation, inhibiting ciliogenesis (PubMed:14668488, PubMed:30398148). [UniProt]
