PPIL2 유전자는 peptidylprolyl isomerase를 암호화하는 cyclophilin 계열 단백질군의 일원입니다. Cyclophilin은 단백질 접힘, cyclosporin A에 의한 면역억제, HIV-1 감염 과정에서 중요한 역할을 수행합니다. 본 단백질은 eglin c 단백질분해효소 억제제와 상호작용하며, 핵에 위치합니다. 다양한 isoform을 암호화하는 여러 전사체 변이가 보고되었습니다.
