Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits, followed by screening individual clones to select optimal candidates for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:
- Improved specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal-origin–free formulation
- Broader immunoreactivity due to the large rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody has specificity for Human S100A7.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing two EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. S100 proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of various cell types and are involved in regulating cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation.
S100 genes include at least 13 members clustered on chromosome 1q21.
This protein differs from other S100 proteins by lacking calcium-binding ability in one EF-hand at the N-terminus. It is markedly overexpressed in the skin lesions of psoriatic patients but is excluded as a candidate gene for familial psoriasis susceptibility.
The exact function of this protein remains unknown.
