Target Information

DEAD box proteins, characterized by the conserved motif Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp, are putative RNA helicases involved in various RNA secondary structure alterations such as translation initiation, splicing, and ribosome assembly.
DDX4 is a homolog of VASA proteins and is specifically expressed in germ cell lineages, playing a crucial role in germ cell development. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
