Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with alpha-tubulin of all tested species under both denaturing and non-denaturing conditions.
Immunoprecipitation is recommended under reducing conditions.
Target Information
Alpha Tubulin is part of a heterodimer consisting of alpha and beta tubulin subunits. Each subunit is approximately 55 kDa and forms the basic building block of microtubules.
Microtubules are cylindrical filamentous structures present in almost all eukaryotic cells, serving as structural supports, transport pathways, and playing key roles in mitosis.
Multiple alpha and beta tubulin genes exist and are highly conserved among species. The alpha tubulin gene is highly similar to the mouse and rat Tuba1 gene, with expression predominantly found in differentiated neurologic cells.
