Target Information

NALP proteins are cytoplasmic proteins forming a subfamily within the larger CATERPILLER family, playing crucial roles in cell proliferation and reproduction.
NALP12 (Monarch-1) possesses:

• C-terminal leucine-rich repeat (LRR) region
• N-terminal Pyrin domain (PYD)
• NACHT domain and NACHT-associated domain

NALP12 acts as an attenuating factor of inflammation by suppressing NF-kappa-B activation through TLR-signaling molecules (MyD88, IRAK-1, TRAF6, RIPK1) in activated monocytes.
Mutations in NALP12 are associated with hereditary periodic fever syndromes.
