Target Information
CCR4-NOT Transcription Complex 2 (CNOT2) is a component of the CCR4-NOT complex, one of the major cellular mRNA deadenylases. It is involved in:
- Bulk mRNA degradation
- miRNA-mediated repression
- Translational repression during initiation
- General transcription regulation
CNOT2 is required for CCR4-NOT complex structural integrity and may link transcriptional repression to the N-Cor repressor complex containing HDAC3, NCOR1, and NCOR2. It also plays a role in maintaining embryonic stem cell identity. (Source: UniProt)
