Antibody detects endogenous levels of total AIMP1.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene acts as a cytokine specifically induced by apoptosis and plays a role in angiogenesis, inflammation, and wound healing. Its release sensitizes tumor-associated vasculature to tumor necrosis factor. The precursor protein corresponds to the p43 subunit of the multi-tRNA synthetase complex, modulating aminoacylation activity in normal cells. After proteolytic cleavage in tumor cells, it stimulates inflammatory responses. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified, and a pseudogene is present on chromosome 20.
