Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

G protein-coupled receptor GPR49 (LGR5) is expressed in brain, skeletal muscle, placenta, and spinal cord. ESTs have been isolated from normal human brain (amygdala), embryo, and placenta libraries, as well as germ cell, uterus, and brain libraries.
GPCRs form one of the largest families of signaling molecules with over a thousand members predicted. They share a structural motif of seven membrane-spanning helices and exist in active and inactive forms. Ligand binding induces conformational changes leading to G-protein signaling and downstream effects.
Negative regulation of GPCRs plays an important role in cellular physiology and pharmacological research. GPCR-targeted drugs such as Zyprexa (Eli Lilly) and Claritin (Schering-Plough) demonstrate the therapeutic potential of this receptor family.
