Target Information
Isocitrate dehydrogenases such as IDH1 catalyze the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to 2-oxoglutarate. These enzymes exist in two subclasses: NAD(+)-dependent and NADP(+)-dependent. Five isocitrate dehydrogenases have been reported—three NAD(+)-dependent forms localized to the mitochondrial matrix and two NADP(+)-dependent forms, one mitochondrial and the other cytosolic.
The IDH1 gene encodes the NADP(+)-dependent cytoplasmic and peroxisomal isocitrate dehydrogenase, containing a PTS-1 peroxisomal targeting signal sequence. Its presence in peroxisomes suggests roles in NADPH regeneration for intraperoxisomal reductions and other metabolic reactions. The cytoplasmic enzyme contributes significantly to cytoplasmic NADPH production.
This antibody specifically recognizes the IDH1 mutant R132H.
