Background
The protein encoded by the PRPF6 gene is involved in pre-mRNA splicing, acting as a bridging factor between U5 and U4/U6 snRNPs during spliceosome formation. It can also bind to the androgen receptor, linking transcriptional activation with splicing. (RefSeq, Jul 2008)
