Product Specific Information
The LWC06 antibody was generated by immunization with the recombinant extracellular region of mouse CIRE/DC-SIGN (CD209).
CIRE/DC-SIGN is expressed on CD8α⁻ dendritic cells and plasmacytoid predendritic cells and is homologous to human DC-SIGN.
Human DC-SIGN binds HIV gp120 independently of CD4.
CIRE/DC-SIGN is a 33 kDa type II transmembrane C-type lectin with a carbohydrate recognition domain (CRD) that binds mannose and other carbohydrates in a calcium-dependent manner.
It may mediate T-dendritic cell interactions via ICAM family binding.
Expression varies by dendritic cell activation state and is downregulated in GM-CSF–supplemented cultures.
The LWC06 antibody does not cross-react with SIGNR1–SIGNR4.
CD209 protein is sensitive to collagenase treatment.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of transfected cell lines; recommended ≤0.25 µg per test (100 µL final volume).
Excitation: 633–647 nm; Emission: 660 nm; Laser: Red Laser.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

It recognizes a wide range of pathogens and participates in innate immunity.
The protein consists of three domains: transmembrane, neck (tandem-repeat), and C-type lectin carbohydrate recognition domain.
The extracellular region acts as both a pathogen recognition and cell adhesion receptor.
Neck domain oligomerization enhances multivalent ligand binding.
Variations in neck repeats affect ligand binding.
Closely related to L-SIGN (GeneID 10332), differing in ligand-binding and tissue distribution.
Alternative splicing yields multiple variants.
