Target Information

The Myb family of transcription factors, including A-, B-, and c-Myb genes, regulate differentiation, cellular growth, and gene expression. c-Myb is crucial for hematopoietic cell proliferation and differentiation. Myb-binding protein 1A (MYBBP1A) is a nuclear protein localized mainly in nucleoli. Initially identified as a c-Myb-interacting protein, MYBBP1A is ubiquitously expressed and associates with various transcription factors. It interacts with the aromatic hydrocarbon receptor (AhR), enhancing AhR-dependent gene expression, and negatively regulates PPAR gamma coactivator 1 alpha (PGC-1α) via p38 MAPK. MYBBP1A also functions as a nucleocytoplasmic shuttling protein using CRM1-dependent and independent export pathways.
