Product Specific Information
This antibody is predicted to react with bovine, chicken, mouse, and rat based on sequence homology.
Intact IgG appears on a non-reducing gel as a ~150 kDa band and, upon reduction, generates a ~25 kDa light chain band and a ~50 kDa heavy chain.
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.
Advantages of recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies:
- Better specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulations
- Broader immunoreactivity due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
Target Information
MAP2K2 (MEK2) is a dual specificity serine/threonine kinase that plays a critical role in mitogen growth factor signal transduction. MEK2 (MAPKK2) belongs to a family of kinases that activate ERK1/2 and MAPK by phosphorylating residues within the TEY motif in the activation loop. MEK1 and MEK2 are activated by dual phosphorylation on serine 218 and 222, and threonine 292 of MEK1 is phosphorylated by ERK2, providing a negative feedback mechanism.
