Target Information
ZPK is a member of the serine/threonine protein kinase family. This kinase contains a leucine-zipper domain and is predominantly expressed in neuronal cells. Its phosphorylation state in synaptic terminals is regulated by membrane depolarization via calcineurin. ZPK forms heterodimers with leucine zipper-containing transcription factors such as CREB and MYC, and may play a regulatory role in PKA or retinoic acid-induced neuronal differentiation.
