Product Specific Information

The eBioH35-17.2 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse CD8 beta molecule. The CD8 beta chain associates with the CD8 alpha chain to form the CD8 alpha/beta heterodimer expressed on thymocytes and peripheral cytotoxic alpha beta TCR T cells. CD8 binds to MHC class I and plays a role in T cell development and activation.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Tested by flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes. Recommended ≤ 0.125 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Optimize titration for best performance.

Light Sensitivity: Tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect from light.
Fixation: Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-822-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-54) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark.
Excitation/Emission: 488–561 nm / 775 nm; Laser: Blue, Green, Yellow-Green.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

The CD8B antigen is a cell surface glycoprotein on most cytotoxic T lymphocytes, mediating cell-cell interactions in the immune system. CD8 acts as a coreceptor with the T-cell receptor to recognize antigens presented by APCs via class I MHC molecules. The functional coreceptor is either a homodimer (two alpha chains) or heterodimer (one alpha, one beta chain). Both chains share homology with immunoglobulin variable light chains. This gene encodes CD8 beta chain isoforms; alternatively spliced variants and a pseudogene on chromosome 2 have been identified.
