MA5-15233 targets CD3 in indirect ELISA and FACS applications, showing reactivity with human samples.
The immunogen is a purified recombinant fragment of human CD3 expressed in E. coli.

Target Information

The CD3 subunit complex is essential for transducing antigen-recognition signals into T-cell cytoplasm and for regulating TCR surface expression.
CD3 subunits (gamma, delta, epsilon, zeta) are structurally related members of the immunoglobulin superfamily encoded by closely linked genes on chromosome 11.
They contain cytoplasmic tails with double tyrosine-based motifs that mediate association with signal transduction molecules.
CD3 is involved in TCR-induced growth arrest, cell survival, and proliferation.

CD3 antigen expression:

• 68–82% of normal peripheral blood lymphocytes
• 65–85% of thymocytes
• Purkinje cells in the cerebellum

CD3 is not expressed on B or NK cells.
Decreased T lymphocyte percentages may occur in certain autoimmune diseases.
Defects in CD3 genes are associated with CD3 immunodeficiency.
