LOX-1 (lectin-like oxidized LDL receptor-1)는 40–50 kDa 크기의 type II 막 단백질로, class E scavenger receptor에 속합니다. 이 단백질은 내피세포, 대식세포, 활성화된 혈소판, 평활근 세포 등에서 발현되며, 산화된 저밀도 지질단백(oxLDL), 변형된 HDL, 노화/세포사멸 세포, 활성화된 혈소판, 세균 등 다양한 리간드와 결합합니다. 이러한 특성은 LOX-1의 다양한 생리학적 기능을 반영합니다.
