Target Information
Heme oxygenase는 heme 대사에 필수적인 효소로, heme을 biliverdin으로 절단하며, biliverdin은 biliverdin reductase에 의해 bilirubin으로 전환되고 carbon monoxide를 생성합니다. Heme oxygenase 활성은 heme 및 다양한 비-heme 물질에 의해 유도됩니다. Heme oxygenase는 두 가지 isozyme, 즉 유도형 heme oxygenase-1(HMOX1)과 구성형 heme oxygenase-2(HMOX2)로 존재합니다. HMOX1과 HMOX2는 heme oxygenase 패밀리에 속하며, 여러 alternative splicing 변이체가 보고되어 있습니다.
