Target Information
Heme oxygenase는 heme 대사에 필수적인 효소로, heme을 biliverdin으로 절단한 뒤 biliverdin reductase에 의해 bilirubin으로 전환시키며, carbon monoxide를 생성합니다. 이 효소는 기질 heme 및 다양한 비-heme 물질에 의해 유도됩니다. Heme oxygenase는 두 가지 isozyme, inducible heme oxygenase-1(HMOX1)과 constitutive heme oxygenase-2(HMOX2)로 존재합니다. HMOX1과 HMOX2는 모두 heme oxygenase family에 속하며, 해당 유전자는 세 가지 다른 isoform을 암호화하는 여러 가지 splice variant를 가집니다.
