Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Ki-67 is a nuclear protein expressed during various stages of the cell cycle, particularly in late G1, S, G2, and M phases. It contains a forkhead-associated (FHA) domain that mediates association with euchromatin, centromeric heterochromatin, and the nucleolus. Ki-67 shows cell cycle–dependent localization: perinucleolar in G1, nuclear matrix in G2, and chromosomal during mitosis.

Because Ki-67 is absent in G0 cells and increases from G1 through mitosis, it serves as a reliable proliferation marker. Ki-67 antibodies are widely used to determine the growth fraction of neoplastic cells, with prognostic value comparable to the thymidine-labeling index. A low Ki-67 index correlates with histologically low-grade tumors. It is also commonly used as a neuronal marker for cell cycling and proliferation.
