FABP5 (fatty acid binding protein 5, psoriasis-associated)는 인간에서 FABP5 유전자에 의해 발현되는 단백질로, PAFABP, EFABP, KFABP 등으로도 알려져 있습니다.
이 단백질은 장쇄 지방산 및 기타 소수성 리간드를 결합하는 세포질 단백질 패밀리에 속하며, 135개의 아미노산(분자량 약 15,164 Da)로 구성되어 있습니다.
FABP5는 주로 표피 세포에서 발현되며, 건선 조직에서 발현이 증가된 것으로 처음 보고되었습니다.
FABP 단백질은 지방산의 흡수, 수송, 대사에 관여하며, Kaczocha et al. (2009)은 FABP5와 FABP7이 세포질 내에서 아난다미드(AEA)를 수송하여 지방산 아마이드 가수분해효소(FAAH)로 전달함을 확인했습니다.
