Product Specific Information

The 3B2/TA8 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD99 (E2 antigen, MIC2), a ~32 kDa sialoglycoprotein expressed by all leukocytes. CD99 is involved in T cell adhesion and activation.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested on normal human peripheral blood cells. Use at 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number can range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test.

Super Bright 436 can be excited with a 405 nm violet laser and emits at 436 nm. Recommended detection filter: 450/50 bandpass or equivalent. Ensure instrument compatibility.

When using multiple Super Bright dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Target Information

CD99 (E2, MIC2) is a transmembrane glycoprotein involved in regulation of T cell adhesive properties and programmed cell death distinct from typical apoptosis. It plays roles in specific stages of T cell differentiation such as corticothymocytes. CD99R isoform expression is restricted to T, NK, and myeloid cells in the hematopoietic system.
