Target Information
MAP4K4 (HGK) is a serine/threonine kinase that plays an important role in stress-activated MAPK core signaling pathways, responding to environmental stress and cytokines such as TNF-alpha. It acts upstream of the JUN N-terminal pathway and interacts with the SH3 domain of adapter proteins Nck. HGK binds to the N-terminal region of SPG3A via its CNH regulatory domain. Expression is ubiquitous across tissues; isoform 5 is more abundant in the brain, while isoform 4 predominates in liver, skeletal muscle, and placenta.
