Target Information
The TRPM3 gene encodes a member of the transient receptor potential (TRP) channel family. These channels are cation-selective and play essential roles in calcium signaling and homeostasis. TRPM3 mediates calcium entry, which is enhanced by calcium store depletion. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified.
