Target Information
ZIMP7, also known as ZMIZ2, is a PIAS (protein inhibitor of activated STAT)-like protein and transcriptional coactivator. It is most abundantly expressed in testis. The C-terminal proline-rich domain possesses significant intrinsic transcriptional activity, which is inhibited by the N-terminus in the full-length ZIMP7.
ZIMP7 and the related protein ZIMP10 interact with PIAS3 and enhance Androgen Receptor (AR)-mediated transcription. The interaction between ZIMP7 and the SWI/SNF complex suggests a possible role in chromatin modification.
