Target Information
RAB21은 Ras superfamily에 속하는 소형 GTP 결합 단백질 유전자 아형의 구성원으로, 세포 내 소포 수송에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 비극성 Caco-2 세포에서는 일반적인 소포체(ER) 유사 위치에 존재하며, 극성이 있는 세포에서는 apical vesicle에 국한됩니다.
RAB21은 integrin 서브유닛과 결합하여 RAB5/RAB21 엔도솜을 통한 수용체 내재화 과정에 관여합니다. 또한 GTPase-activating protein인 p120RasGAP은 endocytosed integrin의 세포막 복귀를 조절하여 세포 이동성을 제어하며, 이는 RAB21과 integrin α-tail의 결합 부위 경쟁을 통해 이루어집니다.
