Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Biglycan (BGN) is a small cellular or pericellular matrix proteoglycan closely related to decorin and fibromodulin. It is believed to have arisen from a gene duplication event with decorin. While decorin contains one glycosaminoglycan chain, biglycan likely contains two, hence its name. Biglycan functions in connective tissue metabolism by binding to collagen fibrils and transferring growth factor-beta, and it may promote neuronal survival.
