Target Information
The encoded Artemis protein functions as a receptor for aryl hydrocarbons and acts as a ligand-activated transcription factor. It is located in the cytoplasm as part of a multiprotein complex and translocates to the nucleus upon ligand binding. This protein regulates the expression of xenobiotic metabolizing enzymes and can bind to and inhibit hepatitis B virus activity.
