Target Information
This gene belongs to the cyclophilin family of peptidylprolyl isomerases (PPIases). Cyclophilins are highly conserved and ubiquitous proteins involved in protein folding, immunosuppression by cyclosporin A, and HIV-1 infection. Based on similarity to other PPIases, PPIL1 may accelerate protein folding and catalyze cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides.
