Target Information
Retinoic Acid (RA), the active metabolite of vitamin A, regulates the transition of proliferating precursor cells (such as carcinoma and neuronal precursors) to postmitotic differentiated cells.
The Retinoid X Receptors (RXRs) family (RXR alpha, beta, and gamma) preferentially bind 9-cis-RA and regulate gene transcription through heterodimer formation with RA receptors.
RA signaling is implicated in neuronal development, synaptic plasticity, and may have therapeutic potential in cervical cancer and other conditions.
