Target Information
The product encoded by the DDX52 gene belongs to an RNA-binding protein family and exhibits nucleolytic activity against cytotoxic lymphocyte (CTL) target cells. It may play a role in apoptosis induction by recognizing poly(A) homopolymers and promoting DNA fragmentation in CTL targets. The major granule-associated species is a 15-kDa protein derived from the carboxyl terminus of the 40-kDa precursor through proteolytic processing. Alternative splicing generates different isoforms of this protein.
