Target Information
Hepatocyte nuclear factor 6 (HNF6) is a member of the CUT homeobox family and functions as a transcription factor containing both CUT and homeobox DNA-binding domains. It regulates genes implicated in maturity-onset diabetes of the young and interacts with the FOXM1 transcription factor network. HNF6, together with HNF4, controls gene expression in the liver, and their expression levels increase during development. Dysregulation of HNF6 and HNF4 can lead to premature or delayed expression of the g6pc gene.
