Definition of activity

One unit of PDI is defined as the amount required to recover one RNase A unit from reduced bovine RNase A, at 25°C in 15 minutes at pH 7.5. One RNase A unit is defined as the amount required for hydrolysis of cCMP (cytidine 2: 3-cyclic monophosphate) that results in an increase of 0.001 absorbance unit at 284 nm per minute, at 25°C in one minute, at pH 7.5.
