For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, it is recommended to perform an additional desalting step (e.g., using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Vimentin is a developmentally regulated intermediate filament protein (IFP) found in cells of mesenchymal origin. It plays a role in intracellular transport of proteins between the nucleus and plasma membrane. Vimentin is expressed early in cellular development along with desmin and later replaced by tissue-specific IFPs. It is implicated in steroid synthesis regulation through cholesterol transport within cells. Phosphorylation of vimentin leads to cytoskeletal rearrangements facilitating lipid droplet interactions with mitochondria, enhancing steroidogenesis.
