Cullin 2는 다수의 cullin-RING 기반 ECS (ElonginB/C-CUL2/5-SOCS-box protein) E3 유비퀴틴-단백질 리가아제 복합체의 핵심 구성 요소입니다. 이 복합체는 표적 단백질의 유비퀴틴화를 매개하며, ARIH1과 협력하여 작용합니다. Cullin 2는 복합체 내에서 강체 스캐폴드 역할을 하며, 기질 및 유비퀴틴 결합 효소의 위치 조정에 기여합니다. E3 리가아제 활성은 cullin 소단위의 neddylation에 의존하며, deneddylated 상태에서는 TIP120A/CAND1 결합에 의해 억제됩니다.
