Target Information
KIF20A is a mitotic kinesin required for chromosome passenger complex (CPC)-mediated cytokinesis. Following phosphorylation by PLK1, it participates in PLK1 recruitment to the central spindle. KIF20A interacts with GTP-bound forms of RAB6A and RAB6B and functions as a motor protein required for retrograde RAB6-regulated transport of Golgi membranes and associated vesicles along microtubules. It exhibits microtubule plus end-directed motility. [UniProt]
