Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >100% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
NEK9, a NEK-type protein kinase, regulates chromosome alignment and segregation in mitosis. The protein contains:
- N-terminal NIMA-like catalytic domain
- Central RCC1-like domain (guanine nucleotide exchange factor for GTPase Ran)
- C-terminal coiled-coil domain
It is phosphorylated by active p34(Cdc2), capable of autophosphorylation and oligomerization, and interacts with Nek6 and RCC1. NEK9 associates with Bicaudal D (Bicd2) and phosphorylates it in vitro. Expression observed in normal human brain; ESTs found in multiple tissues including bone, lymph, thymus, cervix, eye, and placenta.
