Target Information
The Golgi apparatus participates in glycosylation and transport of proteins and lipids in the secretory pathway and consists of a series of stacked cisternae (flattened membrane sacs). Interactions between the Golgi and microtubules are important for reorganization after fragmentation during mitosis. The Golgins are a family of proteins localized to the Golgi, and the encoded protein of this gene is associated with Sjogren’s syndrome.
