Product Specific Information
PA3-015 detects human, canine, porcine, and rat Sec61 beta from microsomes and shows no cross-reactivity with other Sec61 isoforms.
It has been successfully used in Western blot procedures, detecting an approximately 14 kDa Sec61 beta protein from pig microsomes.
The immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues M(1)PGPTPSGTNVGSSGRSPSK(20) of canine Sec61 beta, a sequence completely conserved between human, mouse, and canine.
Target Information
The Sec61 complex mediates the translocation of proteins across the rough endoplasmic reticulum membrane.
It consists of three subunits—alpha, beta, and gamma—that assemble into a heterotrimer. Multiple heterotrimers form the ER translocon.
Sec61 alpha is a polytopic membrane protein with ten membrane-spanning loops. The complex is tightly associated with ribosomes and is essential for membrane and secretory protein assembly.
