Product Specific Information
Reconstitution: Add 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL of double-distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
The antibody is shipped as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
After reconstitution, store at 4°C protected from light for up to 1 week.
For long-term storage, aliquot and keep at -20°C. Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).
Target Information
Scn5a (NaV1.5) is an integral membrane protein and a tetrodotoxin-resistant voltage-gated sodium channel subunit, primarily expressed in cardiac muscle. It is responsible for the initial upstroke of the cardiac action potential.
Mutations in SCN5A are associated with Long QT Syndrome type 3 (LQT3) and Brugada Syndrome 1.
Alternative splicing produces multiple isoforms.
Voltage-gated sodium channels (VGSCs) mediate membrane depolarization and electrical signal conduction in excitable cells such as nerves and muscles.
Expression of Scn5a has also been detected in lymphocytes, glia, and fibroblasts.
These channels regulate voltage-dependent sodium ion permeability and are modulated by intracellular calcium levels.
