The immunogen is purified bovine cytochrome c protein.
Target Information
Cytochrome C is an electron transporting protein located in the intermembrane space of mitochondria, playing a critical role in oxidative phosphorylation and ATP production.
Its release from mitochondria to cytosol is triggered by apoptotic stimuli.
In the cytoplasm, Cytochrome C binds apoptotic protease activating factor, activating procaspase 9 and subsequently caspase 3, a key effector of apoptosis.
