CA IX는 저산소 환경에서 HIF-1α에 의해 유도되는 대표적인 유전자 중 하나로, 세포막에 위치하며 안정성이 높습니다.
Carbonic anhydrases는 정상 조직에서 pH 조절에 중요한 역할을 하며, 저산소 상태에서 세포 사멸과 관련이 있습니다.
CA IX의 억제는 저산소 상태에서 세포 사멸을 증가시키므로, CA IX는 저산소의 조직학적 표지자로 활용됩니다.
