BAF53A는 actin-related proteins (ARPs) 계열에 속하며, conventional actin과 유사한 아미노산 서열을 공유합니다. ARPs는 ATP 결합 홈(actin fold)을 특징으로 하며, 세포 내 소포 수송, 방추체 정렬, 핵 이동, 크로마틴 리모델링 등 다양한 세포 과정에 관여합니다.
