Target Information
Cyanines are blue-green fluorescent dyes belonging to the polymethine group, used in biotechnology for labeling and analysis. The spectrum for Cyanine ranges from IR (489/506) to UV (743/767). Cyanine dyes include Cy2, Cy3, Cy3B, Cy3.5, Cy5, Cy5.5, and Cy7. These dyes exhibit brighter and more stable fluorescence than traditional FITC or TRITC/Rhodamine dyes. Cy3 and Cy5 are most commonly used for two-color detection in flow cytometry applications.
