The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
eIF3f is a component of the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 (eIF-3) complex, essential for multiple steps in the initiation of protein synthesis.
The eIF-3 complex associates with the 40S ribosome and facilitates recruitment of eIF-1, eIF-1A, eIF-2:GTP:methionyl-tRNAi, and eIF-5 to form the 43S preinitiation complex (43S PIC).
It promotes mRNA recruitment and scanning for AUG recognition and is also involved in ribosomal complex disassembly and recycling, preventing premature joining of 40S and 60S subunits before initiation.
