Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform desalting using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
More than 99% of the vertebrate ocular lens is comprised of terminally differentiated lens fiber cells.
Two lens-specific intermediate filament-like proteins, CP49 (phakinin) and filensin (product of this gene), are expressed after fiber cell differentiation begins.
Both proteins are part of the beaded filament (BF) cytoskeletal structure.
Mutations in this gene cause autosomal recessive cortical juvenile-onset cataract.
Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
