Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

MUC1 (Mucin 1, Episialin, MAM-6, CA 15-3, PEM, EMA) is a large transmembrane mucin glycoprotein expressed by glandular and ductal epithelial cells and some hematopoietic lineages.
It has a heavily glycosylated extracellular domain and shows high polymorphism, with different alleles encoding varying repeat numbers (30–90), resulting in molecular weight diversity.
MUC1 is abundantly expressed in >90% breast carcinomas and metastases, and has been shown to associate with cebB receptors and erbB1 (EGFR) in lactating glands.
Aberrant expression and glycosylation are associated with carcinomas. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants exist, some fully characterized.
