Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This antibody is directed against human HIF-1α hydroxyP564 and is specific for the hydroxylated form of the protein. Minimal reactivity occurs with the non-hydroxylated form.
BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with HIF-1α from human, monkey, mouse, rat, dog, bovine, and Xenopus based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Reactivity against homologues from other species is not known.

Target Information

HIF1-alpha (HIF1A) is a subunit of HIF1, a transcription factor found in mammalian cells under reduced oxygen tension.
HIF-1 is a heterodimer consisting of alpha and beta subunits, both belonging to the PAS family of transcription factors.
Under hypoxic conditions, HIF-1 activates transcription of over 40 genes involved in oxygen delivery and metabolic adaptation, including erythropoietin, glucose transporters, glycolytic enzymes, and VEGF.
HIF1-alpha also regulates hypoxia-mediated apoptosis, cell proliferation, and tumor angiogenesis.
It interacts with p53 and p300/CBP complexes, contributing to hypoxia-responsive gene induction.
Hypoxia plays a major role in diseases such as ischemia, cancer, pulmonary hypertension, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
