Product Specific Information

Store vial at -20 °C prior to opening. Aliquot and freeze at -20 °C or below for long-term storage. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge if product is not clear after standing at room temperature. Stable for several weeks at 4 °C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only immediately before use.

This antiserum detects the minimal peptide substrate (GLNDIFEAQKIEWH) for the E. coli biotin ligase tag (BLT of BirA). Western blot analysis of B. subtilis strains producing BAP-tagged SPoIIIAH (XWB49) or SpoIIQ (XWB46) showed strong and specific reactivity. Minor background bands may be observed. The antisera recognizes the BAP/BLT tag regardless of biotinylation status.

Target Information

The peptide is also known as the biotin acceptor peptide (BAP) of the biotin carboxyl carrier protein (BCCP) subunit of acetyl-CoA carboxylase from E. coli.
